About this opportunity
Naval Sea Systems Command anticipates procuring temporary ASW (anti-submarine warfare) seawater pump units for Naval Station Norfolk, with a sources-sought response window closing October 13, 2026. No set-aside is anticipated.
Place of performance is Naval Station Norfolk. The procurement calls for rental of three electrically powered seawater pump units, each rated for 460/480V operation on a 400-amp circuit breaker with male 500 mcm Kamlock electrical connections. Each unit must deliver a minimum of 400 gallons per minute at 60–70 PSI discharge pressure, with approximately 60 feet of delivery head and 20 feet of suction head, and operate continuously 24/7 with one unit serving as backup. Discharge outlets require two 2-1/2" male NPT connections; the contractor provides adapters if necessary. Units must be free-standing with forklift slots and affixed with metal identification tags containing company name, repair contact, and phone number.
The contractor bears responsibility for delivery and removal at no cost to the government, provision of repair and replacement parts under normal wear and tear, and a comprehensive preventative and corrective maintenance contract with technical manuals and operating instructions. Service representatives must respond to repair requests within six hours at no additional charge. The contractor assumes all liability for equipment damage from departure through return.
Equipment must meet NAVFAC P-307 lifting and rigging standards, including certified lifting attachments and center-of-gravity documentation. New or used equipment is acceptable, subject to government inspection prior to award. Protective coverings must be provided to guard against weather and saltwater exposure. The contract includes options to extend the rental in one-week increments up to an additional three weeks, with costs prorated based on actual usage. The government reserves the right to return units with 24 hours' notice and prorated cost adjustments.
