About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 9 is conducting market research to identify potential contractors capable of providing comprehensive teleradiology physician services across five medical centers in Kentucky and Tennessee, including facilities in Lexington, Louisville, Memphis, Mountain Home, and Nashville. The contractor must provide 24/7 board-certified teleradiology interpretation services that comply with The Joint Commission standards and American College of Radiology guidelines, with specific performance requirements including critical findings reported within 60 minutes and final reports submitted within 24 hours of image availability for routine exams and 45 minutes for STAT exams. Key qualifications include board-certified radiologists with full, unrestricted medical licenses, robust teleradiology systems capable of securely transmitting DICOM images via HL7 interface to VA VistA systems, and strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality regulations. The evaluation will focus on quality assurance performance standards tracking timeliness, provider qualifications, scope of practice, and mandatory training compliance. Responses to this Sources Sought Request for Information are due by September 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM Central Time and should be submitted via email to ramona.bonness@va.gov.

This procurement opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors. The solicitation documents do not identify any current incumbents or existing contractors providing these services to the specified VA medical centers. No specific award values, budget ranges, or contract quantities are disclosed in the market research documentation, as this is a pre-solicitation notice intended solely for capability assessment rather than formal procurement. The contract structure is described as a base year plus four option years, suggesting a potential five-year total performance period for the eventual awarded contract. The teleradiology services must cover multiple imaging modalities and provide comprehensive coverage for routine, urgent, and stat examinations across the five-facility network. This market research initiative serves as a precursor to a future formal solicitation, with responses being voluntary and carrying no guarantee of subsequent procurement opportunities.
