About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) and Sources Sought Notice for Teleradiology Physician Services issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 9. The VA is seeking a contractor to provide board-certified teleradiology physician services for five medical centers in Kentucky and Tennessee, covering routine, urgent, and stat imaging examinations. The contractor must offer 24/7 radiology interpretation services, with critical findings reported within 60 minutes and final reports submitted within 24 hours of image availability, using HL7 interface compatible with VA VistA systems.

Key requirements include board-certified radiologists with full, unrestricted medical licenses, compliance with American College of Radiology and Joint Commission standards, and strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality regulations. The teleradiology provider must maintain secure communication networks, provide a web-based portal for exam management, and ensure rapid image interpretation across multiple modalities. The RFI emphasizes quality assurance, with performance standards tracking timeliness, provider qualifications, scope of practice, and mandatory training compliance. This is a market research initiative to assess potential contractor capabilities, and responses are voluntary with no guarantee of future solicitation.
