About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) requests information on near-production commercial technologies, products, or services for next-generation combat vehicle crew stations by August 2, 2026, with no set-aside. Responses will support the Crew Optimization and Augmentation Technologies (COAT) program, which will select vendors to collaborate with the Army via Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA).

The Government seeks technologies preferably Mil-Spec rated or minimally meeting automotive/industrial quality standards capable of surviving combat and tactical vehicle operating conditions across 17 capability areas: user interface input/output devices, user interface software, situational awareness (local, LOS, and BLOS), AI-enabled technologies, survivability counter-drone systems, strike drones, crew safety/vitality monitoring, electronic warfare, communications, cyber security, vetronics, embedded training, virtual experimentation, development tools, and engineering services.

Selected vendors will receive Army subject-matter expert support, access to the Hardware-In-The-Loop System Integration Laboratory, access to combat and tactical vehicles, operational assessment by soldiers, and formal assessment reports at no cost. Vendors must provide product bailment, technical support, and Field Service Representative support; fund their own labor, travel, and equipment shipping; and acknowledge commitment to partner at vendor's own cost.

Responses must include the COAT RFI Data Collection Template spreadsheet with 21 specified data elements: capability area, offering title, company information, crew roles supported, technical specifications, Technology Readiness Level, performance testing methodology, unit cost, Low-Rate Initial Production Volume Cost, and first unit availability. Submit to GVSC.IS.COAT@army.mil. All proprietary information must be clearly marked; an NDA will be required before information is shared. No guarantee of selection or acquisition funding exists.
