About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Fort Drum is soliciting proposals for low-cost, expendable NDAA-compliant targeting drones, including associated controllers and goggles to support training and evaluation activities. The primary objective is to procure complete drone systems where the airframes are affordable and easily replaceable for repeated loss during training scenarios, while control equipment remains non-expendable and reusable. The solicitation was posted on March 26, 2026, with a proposal due date of April 2, 2026. Amendment 1 clarified the scope by addressing previously submitted Requests for Information (RFIs) and removing references to sub-components from Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) 001. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in this notice, the Government's emphasis on expendability, affordability, and NDAA compliance indicates these will be primary evaluation factors.
This solicitation is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting competition to small business contractors. The contract will be performed at Fort Drum, New York, and falls under NAICS Category 336411 (Aircraft Manufacturing) and PSC Category 1550 (Unmanned Aircraft). No specific award value, budget range, or quantity of units is provided in this notice. The solicitation references a specific Federal Meta Opportunity ID (69c549fbdbb92382ea034287) and directs interested parties to review Attachment W911S226U2895 containing questions and answers from the amendment process. Prospective bidders should act promptly given the compressed timeline between the posting date and the April 2, 2026 due date.
