About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation seeks to procure 8 units of tank assembly fuel components under NSN 7R-1560-015189123-BL. This acquisition requires engineering source approval from the design control activity to maintain quality standards, as the parts are flight-critical and require specialized engineering skills and manufacturing knowledge retained by qualified sources. The procurement is intended as a sole source acquisition under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though all responsible sources may express interest and capability within 45 days of publication (30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). Potential offerors who are not currently approved sources must submit comprehensive technical data and source approval documentation as detailed in NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support brochures. The due date for responses is September 11, 2025, with delivery terms specified as FOB Origin.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is classified under PSC code 1560 for Airframe Structural Components. The notice does not specify potential incumbents, current contractors, or estimated award values, focusing instead on the stringent qualification requirements. The quantity requirement is limited to 8 units, and the government emphasizes that award decisions will be based solely on fleet support needs and the ability of offerors to meet qualification requirements at the time of award. The specialized nature of these fuel tank assemblies and the requirement for pre-existing government source approval significantly limits the pool of eligible contractors, with the procurement structured to ensure continuity of supply for critical aviation components.
