The Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center (TVAMC), Tuscaloosa, AL intends to award a Limited Sources (sole source) task order contract under the authority of FAR 8.405-6 Limited Sources Justification to Talyst, Inc., Bellevue, WA for the maintenance, repair and support for two Talyst Autopack dose medication packaging equipment. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. Talyst is the company that supplied the equipment to the TVAMC.
The requirements are as follows: Contractor shall provide support/maintenance/repair consistent with Gold Level Service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Support calls shall be responded to by vendor via phone within four (4) hours; if the support call is determined to be mission-critical, vendor shall escalate and/or address within 24 hours (including, if appropriate, by providing on-site support within 24 hours).
This task order contract is for a one year time frame with four (4) option years. Addition of equipment purchases of Talyst AutoPack systems to be added via contract modifications as needed.
The contractor shall provide technical assistance with respect to the Equipment and Software by telephone or face to face communication. Possibly provide support by remote access through dial-ins or high speed access to the server equipment on which the software is operating and/or on-site at the applicable installation site. Service should include any bug fixes, patches and modifications to the software within the contract between the TVAMC and contractor.
On-site preventive maintenance visits shall occur every six months for each item of Equipment.
This notice of intent is not a request for quotations; interested parties may express their interest by providing a capabilities statement on or before October 28, 2013 at 12:00 PM CST. There will be no solicitation available for competitive quotes. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The capabilities statement must provide clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate the capability of the party to provide the required services. A determination not to compete this proposed contract upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered. When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to Announcement VA247-14-Q-0071 Notice of Intent. If after October 28, 2013, no viable responses have been received in response to this announcement, The TVAMC shall negotiate solely with Talyst, Inc.
