About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is procuring specialized titanium components including tailpieces, nuts, and tubing for naval operations. The solicitation (SPMYM225Q2361) specifically seeks 40 each of 3/8" OD Titanium Grade-2 tailpieces and nuts, 120 feet of 3/8" OD titanium tubing with 0.049" wall thickness, and 80 each of 3/8" OD x 9/16"-18 MST orbital threaded tailpieces. Contractors must comply with NIST SP 800-171 requirements unless items qualify as Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS), provide manufacturer name and country of origin, and submit complete solicitations including signed documentation. The evaluation will require supply chain traceability documentation and adherence to various federal procurement regulations. The solicitation deadline was extended from July 30, 2025 at 6:00 AM to July 31, 2025 at 9:00 AM, with electronic submission available through the Beta SAM website.

This procurement is designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 332999 for miscellaneous fabricated metal product manufacturing. Previous sole source documentation indicates Tork System, with contact Toby Davies located in Alameda, California, was previously identified as the only source capable of providing suitable proprietary substitute parts due to the complexity of these titanium components. The solicitation is marked as urgent with potential work stoppage implications, requiring delivery by August 8, 2025. Performance will occur at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington, with air shipment authorized and FOB destination terms. The procurement history shows prior unsuccessful open bid attempts due to the technical complexity of the specialized titanium parts required for naval operations.
