About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Weapon Systems Support (WSS) has issued a Special Notice seeking eligible contractors to evaluate, repair, and/or modify a specific electronic synthesizer item with National Item Identification Number (NIIN) 015226118. The notice was published on April 2, 2025, with a response deadline of April 7, 2025. The government intends to sole-source this contract under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, indicating they do not possess the necessary data to perform repairs or manufacture the item independently. The primary point of contact for this opportunity is Brett Hassick, a Contracting Officer with the Navy. The notice applies to communications equipment manufacturing within the NAICS 334290 category.
Contractors interested in this opportunity must submit capability statements within 15 days of the notice's publication and undergo a source approval process. To be considered, potential contractors must provide detailed information outlined in the NAVSUP-WSS Source Approval Information Brochure for Repair, which can be accessed through the agency's website. The government has explicitly stated that Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. is their preferred source for this repair work. While the opportunity is not a competitive proposal request, all responsible sources may identify their interest and capabilities. The government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the proposed contract. Notably, WSS will not delay the award pending source approval, and the time required for new source approval typically prevents postponement of the contract award.
