About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Materiel Command Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground intends to award a sole source supply contract for specialized connectors and cabling to support the Mounted Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing System (MAPS) GEN II integration into Army mounted platforms including the M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank, M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, and M113 Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle Family. The procurement encompasses three specific connector types: 24-contact push-pull plugs with pre-populated wires, wire harness assemblies with 24-contact push-pull connectors integrated with D38999/26KB35PA compatible 13-pin circular connectors, and 19-contact 11mm push-pull plugs. All cables must feature polyurethane jacketing, braided and foil shielding for EMI/RFI protection, IP68 sealing for dust and water resistance, and operate within extreme temperature ranges from -55°C to 135°C while meeting rigorous environmental testing standards including 24-hour immersion, vibration testing, and salt spray exposure. The government plans to negotiate exclusively with Fischer Connectors in Alpharetta, Georgia, under FAR 13.5 simplified acquisition procedures. Interested contractors must submit capability statements electronically to Contracting Officer Charles Compton by October 8, 2025, including SAM registration details, Unique Entity ID, credentials, and business classification information.

This solicitation does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors, though the government has indicated its intent to negotiate with Fischer Connectors as the sole source provider. The synopsis does not specify award values or budget ranges for this procurement, nor does it provide specific quantities of connectors and cables required for the MAPS GEN II integration activities. The contract will be administered from Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, where the Army Contracting Command is located. Contractors interested in demonstrating their capabilities for this specialized electronic connector manufacturing requirement must respond by the October 8, 2025 deadline with comprehensive capability statements that address the technical specifications and environmental performance requirements outlined in the solicitation. The procurement falls under NAICS code 334417 for Electronic Connector Manufacturing and PSC code 5995 for Cable, Cord, and Wire Assemblies for Communication Equipment.
