About this opportunity
The Department of Agriculture Forest Service's Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit is seeking mechanical stewardship services for the Taylor Creek project, which involves forest management and hazardous fuels reduction activities on 275 acres located on the south shore of Lake Tahoe in El Dorado County, California. The scope of work includes cutting and removing sawtimber between 10.0" and 29.9" diameter at breast height, removing dead conifer trees, mechanically cutting small diameter trees, treating fuels through mastication, removing biomass, constructing less than one mile of temporary road, and performing road maintenance activities. This procurement is restricted to current holders of the R5 Pacific Southwest Stewardship Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA), and the solicitation will be issued directly to these BPA holders via email rather than being posted on sam.gov. The Request for Quotes is planned for June 2025 with a tentative award scheduled for August 2025. The project objectives focus on reducing hazardous fuels and promoting forest health in both Wildland-Urban Interface and general forest areas.
This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and is classified under NAICS code 115310 for Support Activities for Forestry. No specific contract values or budget ranges are disclosed in the synopsis, and no current incumbents are identified by name. The project encompasses 275 acres of forest land requiring mechanical treatment and must be completed by October 15, 2027, providing contractors with approximately two years and four months to execute the work. The construction of temporary roads is limited to less than one mile, indicating a relatively contained infrastructure development component. Since this is a synopsis notice that will not be followed by a formal solicitation posting, interested parties must already hold the required BPA to participate in the upcoming competitive process.
