About this opportunity
The Department of the Army has published a Special Notice regarding the refurbishment of Small Unit Support Vehicles (SUSV), specifically Hagglunds BV206 vehicles used by the 11th Airborne Division at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This notice announces that a sole source contract has been awarded to Tracked Outdoors, LLC for maintenance and restoration services of these specialized military vehicles. The contract falls under the Total Small Business set-aside category and is classified under NAICS code 811198 for automotive repair and maintenance services. The posting carries an extremely short timeline, with the notice posted on September 25, 2025, and a due date of September 30, 2025.
The primary objective of this procurement is to address the critical maintenance needs of over 40-year-old Hagglunds BV206 vehicles that are essential for upcoming winter training exercises at Fort Wainwright. Tracked Outdoors, a 100% small business located in Casper, Wyoming, has been identified as the sole capable contractor due to their unique ability to source parts, conduct specialized maintenance, and perform up to three refurbishments annually for these obsolete vehicles. The sole source justification stems from the fact that the original manufacturer is outdated with no available parts, making Tracked Outdoors the only known entity capable of providing the required diagnostic and repair services. This time-sensitive procurement supports the Army's operational readiness while awaiting the arrival of replacement BvS10 Beowulf vehicles under a separate BAE Systems contract established in August 2022. The contract structure will be a fixed-price Operations & Maintenance Army contract for fiscal year 25, emphasizing the critical nature of maintaining these vehicles for mission success.
