About this opportunity

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Northeast Area (NEA), Animal Genomics and Improvement Laboratory (AGIL) is conducting market research for sources who can provide a service for accelerating genetic improvement of ruminants through enhanced genome assembly, annotation, and selection. The key requirement is the capability of spatial transcriptomics, specifically the molecular profiling method to measure all the gene activity in a 1cm x 1cm tissue sample and map the activity with a resolution of 500 nanometers. The government is issuing a Sources Sought to determine if there are qualified interested contractors capable of providing this requirement. Responses to the Sources Sought are due by May 7th at 10am EST, but no contract will be awarded based solely on these responses.

This is a pre-solicitation notice with no set-aside designation. The government has not provided any information about potential incumbents or current contractors. The notice does not specify any award values or budget ranges, and the quantity of goods or timeline for services is limited to processing four fixed tissue samples within 5 months after contract award. The government will not pay for information received in response to this Sources Sought, and respondents are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding.
