About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center seeks restoration of two static display aircraft—a B-17G and SR-71A—to museum quality appearance at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, with proposals due July 13, 2026 at 12:00 PM CST. This is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS 712110 (Museums), foreclosing competition outside that pool. The original June 30 deadline was extended by Amendment 0001, issued June 30.
Place of performance is the U.S. Air Force Armament Museum at Eglin AFB, Florida. Work must be completed on or before September 28, 2026. The contractor must provide all personnel, safety gear, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and chemically approved materials (authorized by the base environmental and HAZMAT pharmacy). Restoration includes limited disassembly, corrosion removal from external and internal surfaces, sheet metal repairs, corrosion treatment, reassembly, and application of final chemical coatings and polyurethane paint. Work is restricted to Monday through Friday daylight hours. The contractor assumes strict liability for any damage to the aircraft or government property, including all overspray cleanup, and is responsible for hazardous waste collection and disposal in compliance with EPA, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and Eglin AFB regulations.
The PSC is J015 (Maint/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment—Aircraft and Airframe Structural Components). This is a firm fixed-price, single-line-item procurement. Questions were due June 22, 2026. Service Contract Act wage determination applies. Evaluation weighs price and technical factors. All offerors must be registered in SAM and maintain WAWF registration for payment processing. Contracting Officer is Rommel Angeles; Sierra Prindle is the WAWF point of contact.
