About this opportunity
The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to procure Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) increased production capacity requirements including special tooling, special test equipment, and labor to support large-scale automation of the Standard Missile-6 program. This procurement is planned as a sole source award to Raytheon Company located at 1151 East Hermans Road, Tucson, Arizona 85706, under the authority of FAR 6.302. The Navy has determined that Raytheon is the only company with the requisite expertise, knowledge, experience, and facilities necessary to meet the Standard Missile program requirements. While this is not a request for competitive proposals, the government will consider any proposals received within 15 days after the publication date of July 21, 2025, with a due date of August 8, 2025. The government retains sole discretion to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received to this notice.
This procurement does not include any set-aside designations and is classified under NAICS code 336414 for Guided Missile and Space Vehicle Manufacturing. Raytheon Company is identified as the intended sole source contractor, with companies interested in subcontracting opportunities directed to contact Raytheon directly. The contract opportunity does not specify award values, budget ranges, or specific quantities of missiles to be produced. The timeline focuses on the 15-day response period for interested parties to demonstrate their capabilities, though the primary objective appears to be establishing increased production capacity rather than delivering a specific number of units within a defined timeframe.
