About this opportunity
The United States Department of the Air Force, specifically the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (SAF/AQ), is conducting market research for a follow-on recompete of the Staffing and Technical Acquisition Services Support (STAQSS) contract. This Advisory and Assistance professional services contract will support SAF/AQ by providing critical information, analyses, and recommendations across multiple domains including systems engineering, acquisition life cycle support, and legislative analysis. The agency is seeking comprehensive support for its research, development, acquisition, and program sustainment activities, which currently manage an annual budget exceeding $60 billion for over 550 acquisition programs. Interested parties are required to complete an online survey to aid in market research, with questions focusing on the performance work statement and nature of work requested. The Request for Information (RFI) has a response deadline of February 3, 2025, and potential vendors should contact SSgt Christian Mancha with any questions, referencing the RFI ID "FA701425STAQSSIII".
The current solicitation does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, suggesting the opportunity is open to a broad range of contractors. The contract will require personnel with security clearances ranging from Secret to TS/SCI, with an anticipated baseline requirement of 139 Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs) and potential for 13 additional optional FTEs across various labor categories. While specific award value is not detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, the contract will support multiple SAF/AQ directorates with personnel primarily located at Pentagon facilities and potentially at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. The performance work statement from the current STAQSS II contract suggests continuity of support, though the agency notes that the future PWS may be substantially revised. Contractors will likely need to demonstrate expertise in program analysis, policy development, budget analysis, systems engineering, and acquisition lifecycle support to be competitive for this opportunity.
