About this opportunity
The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, operating under the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command, is seeking qualified contractors to provide comprehensive calibration and maintenance services for a LMA010 SPECTROMAXx instrument. The procurement encompasses on-site preventative maintenance, calibration services, and telephone support for equipment diagnostics and repair. Contractors must possess the capability to perform these services and are expected to be classified under NAICS 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) with a PSC code of J066 (Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment—Instruments and Laboratory Equipment). Rather than using formal evaluation criteria at this stage, the government is requesting capability statements and lead time information from interested contractors to support acquisition planning purposes. All responses must be submitted by January 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM Pacific Standard Time to Silvana Miranda and Ricardo Barraza-Cobos via email, with the government noting that no commitment exists to respond to submitted comments or questions.
This pre-solicitation notice contains no set-aside designation for small businesses or other specific contractor categories. The government has not identified any incumbent contractors or provided specific award values or budget ranges in this announcement. The procurement includes a base contract period with the option for up to two additional option years for calibration and maintenance services, indicating a multi-year engagement structure. Interested vendors are required to provide their own tools and parts necessary for preventative maintenance and calibration work, and must permit one Materials Shop Technician from the government to observe the unit during calibration and repair activities. The pre-solicitation phase indicates that formal solicitation details, including contract value, specific service schedules, and detailed requirements, will be forthcoming following the collection and review of contractor capability statements.
