The services encompass disease diagnostics performed on an as-needed basis in response to mortality events and project needs, including gross and microscopic pathology, radiography, microbiology, parasitology, and toxicology, as well as field and laboratory investigations to identify and investigate diseases impacting wildlife populations. Prospective contractors must demonstrate well-established, long-term working relationships with state and federal government wildlife agencies across the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and U.S. Territories, along with a documented history of conducting wildlife disease diagnostics and research with a proven track record of professional conduct and results delivery. This Sources Sought Notice is informational in nature and does not constitute a formal solicitation; responses will be used by the government to identify qualified potential contractors and their socio-economic size classifications under NAICS code 541380 to inform future acquisition decisions. Interested parties should note that responses to this Sources Sought Notice will not be considered adequate responses to any subsequently posted solicitation announcement.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no set-aside designations are being used for this procurement opportunity. The notice does not identify any current contractors or incumbents, nor does it provide specific award values or budget ranges for the anticipated contract. No specific timeline for service delivery or quantity metrics are detailed in the announcement, though the work scope suggests an ongoing, as-needed service arrangement with annual components such as bison parasitology diagnostics and responsive disease investigation activities. Contractors should note that this Sources Sought Notice serves as preliminary market research, and formal solicitation details, including contract value, period of performance, and detailed evaluation criteria, will likely be included in any subsequent solicitation announcement.
