About this opportunity
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Marianas is conducting market research to identify commercially available water treatment systems using Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC) for Naval Base Guam's Potable Water System. Specifically, the agency seeks systems compatible with Calgon Carbon Corporation's GAC system utilizing F400 carbon media, capable of removing dissolved organic compounds including taste and odor compounds, organic color, total organic carbon, and industrial organic compounds like Chlordane, TCE, and PCE from drinking water. The Sources Sought notice requires interested vendors to submit detailed technical information about their water treatment systems, including model numbers, product descriptions, and technical data sheets within a 2-page limit. Respondents must also provide 1-3 reference projects demonstrating successful implementation of similar GAC systems, with comprehensive project details and customer contact information. The deadline for submissions is February 21, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. Chamorro Standard Time, with responses to be submitted via email to specified Navy contracting personnel.
This Sources Sought notice is not a formal solicitation and does not have a specific set-aside designation. No reimbursement will be provided for response preparation, and the government will not notify participants of the research results. While no specific award value or budget range is indicated, the market research aims to inform future procurement decisions for a water treatment system at Naval Base Guam. The notice emphasizes that this is strictly a market research effort, with no commitment to issue a subsequent contract, and respondents will not receive debriefings or evaluation letters. All submitted information marked as proprietary or corporate will be protected from external release. The procurement process maintains integrity by restricting communication about technical points of contact and prohibiting appointment requests for presentations.
