About this opportunity
The United States Air Force at Ellsworth Air Force Base is conducting market research to identify qualified sources for leasing and providing maintenance services for washing machines and dryers to be installed in dormitory facilities. This pre-solicitation notice, issued by the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command, seeks vendors capable of supplying Energy Star-rated commercial equipment, specifically Whirlpool models or equivalents meeting defined specifications. Key contract requirements include monthly preventive maintenance, a 48-hour response time for service calls, equipment replacement if repairs exceed 48 hours, and compliance with base security protocols. Interested parties must submit a capabilities package by January 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM Mountain Time demonstrating their ability to provide the equipment and associated services. This notice is classified under NAICS code 532210 (Consumer Electronics and Appliances Rental) with a business size standard of $47 million and PSC code W035. It is important to note that this is a market research notice only and does not constitute a formal solicitation or commitment to award a contract.
No set-aside designation has been applied to this procurement, though the Air Force remains open to potential small business set-asides in subsequent solicitations. The opportunity involves the initial deployment of equipment across six dormitories (78 washers and 88 dryers) with three additional dormitories to follow (36 washers and 36 dryers), totaling 114 washers and 124 dryers. The contract will include phased equipment removal and reinstallation between fall 2026 and spring 2028 to accommodate major dormitory renovations at Jefferson and Lincoln Dorms. While no specific budget or award value is disclosed in this market research notice, the substantial equipment quantity and multi-year maintenance requirement suggest a significant contract value. Respondents are required to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and should submit details regarding their company information, past government experience, manufacturing capabilities, lead times, and manufacturing locations to demonstrate their qualifications for this opportunity.
