About this opportunity

The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is conducting market research through this pre-solicitation notice to identify domestically sourced service contractors capable of providing preventative maintenance and technical support for Shimadzu TOC-L Analyzer systems. The primary objective is to determine the availability and capability of qualified domestic sources before potentially issuing an unrestricted solicitation. Key contract requirements include one full year of warranty coverage with four additional option years, with each service year including one annual preventive maintenance visit that covers parts, labor, and travel. The evaluation criteria will focus on the contractor's qualifications, experience, and capability to provide domestically available services for the specified analytical equipment. Responses to this sources sought notice are due by March 13, 2026, and interested parties should submit information demonstrating their ability to meet these service requirements. It is important to note that this notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government, no award will result from this market research phase, and respondents will not be notified of the results.

This procurement carries no set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors. Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc. is identified as the current known source for these services. The notice does not specify an award value or budget range, as this is a market research phase intended to gather information before formal solicitation. The equipment requiring service support consists of three Shimadzu analyzers with specific serial numbers (H54435602252, H5605601509, and H57415602505) located at the USDA ARS Genetics and Sustainability Agriculture Research Unit in Mississippi State. The contract would span a potential five-year period (one base year plus four option years), with the requirement for at least one annual maintenance visit per service year, making this a long-term service engagement for laboratory equipment maintenance and support.
