About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Materiel Command Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal is conducting market research to identify vendors capable of manufacturing Power Supply units with National Stock Number 6130-01-157-3155 for the Patriot Weapon System (D6). The procurement is currently restricted to Advanced Conversion Technology, Inc. (Cage Code: 60642), but the government is seeking to identify additional qualified sources through this Sources Sought Notice. Vendors must possess active certification in the Joint Certification Program (JCP) to access the Technical Data Package, and successful contractors will be required to complete First Article Testing (FAT) and obtain Source Approval through submission of a Source Approval Request (SAR) package in accordance with Army guidelines. The part classification requires engineering source approval (AMC/AMSC: 3C) due to the need to maintain quality standards and the specialized design capabilities required. The anticipated Request for Proposal will be issued on or about September 30, 2025, with responses to this market research notice due by September 12, 2025, and all formal communications must be directed to Contracting Specialist Farrah Hammond via email.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designation and is open to full and open competition among qualified vendors. Advanced Conversion Technology, Inc. appears to be the current approved source for Part Number 11436849-2 under the existing restricted procurement arrangement. The anticipated acquisition will result in a 5-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) firm fixed price contract with an estimated minimum quantity of 30 units and maximum of 150 units over the contract's ordering periods. While specific contract values are not disclosed, the power supply units fall under NAICS code 335931 (Current-Carrying Wiring Device Manufacturing) and PSC code 6130 (Converters, Electrical, Nonrotating). The procurement involves government-owned Technical Data Package with source approval requirements, and vendors must demonstrate manufacturing capabilities that meet the stringent quality and performance standards required for this critical defense component.
