About this opportunity
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii is conducting market research to identify alternative suppliers for a Viking Grate Nozzle Model GN202 component used in aircraft hangar bay low-level fire protection systems at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The government seeks a fixed foam solution discharge device that meets specific technical requirements, including compliance with UFC 4-021-01 Aircraft Maintenance Hangars and NFPA 11 standards for low-expansion foam systems, UL listing or FM approval for synthetic fluorine-free foam (SFFF) systems, and the capability to discharge foam at 360-degree, 180-degree, and 90-degree spray patterns with a minimum 25-foot throw from a stainless steel nozzle integrated into an epoxy-coated ductile iron grated trench cover. Interested vendors are required to submit complete technical data and product specifications in a typed format using at least 11-point Times New Roman font, not exceeding 2 pages of single-sided 8.5 by 11-inch pages in Adobe PDF format. The deadline for submission is January 30, 2026, and this notice is for market research purposes only and does not constitute a commitment by the government to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
This pre-solicitation notice includes no set-aside designations and does not identify a specific incumbent contractor beyond referencing the current Viking Corporation product (Model GN202). The notice does not provide an estimated award value, budget range, or quantity of units required, as this is preliminary market research to evaluate product compatibility with existing systems rather than a formal solicitation. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 332919 (Other Metal Valve and Pipe Fitting Manufacturing) and PSC code 4210 (Fire Fighting Equipment), indicating the specialized nature of the required equipment. No timeline for contract award or system installation is specified in this notice.
