About this opportunity

The US Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) at Aberdeen Proving Ground is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for supplying and repairing WX-500 Stormscope Processors used on multiple Army aircraft platforms. The market research seeks manufacturers and repair sources with demonstrated experience in producing and maintaining these electronic components, specifically NSN 5841-01-536-9302, P/N: 805-11500-001. Interested companies must provide comprehensive documentation showing their engineering qualifications, test equipment capabilities, and expertise in managing component obsolescence. Respondents will be evaluated based on their technical competence, ability to meet government contracting requirements, and proven track record with similar electronic systems. All responses must be submitted via email by April 2, 2025, with no phone inquiries permitted, and the market survey is strictly for research purposes with no guarantee of contract award.

The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate any specific set-aside designations for small businesses or disadvantaged vendors. The current incumbent for these systems is Extant Components Group, Inc. The contract will be structured as a five-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, comprising one base year and four additional ordering periods. The government estimates procuring 113 new units and repairing/overhauling 909 Stormscope Processors during the contract period. While specific budget ranges are not disclosed, the scope suggests a significant procurement effort focused on maintaining critical electronic components for Army aircraft. The comprehensive nature of the contract, covering both supply and repair, indicates a strategic approach to managing these specialized electronic processing systems over an extended timeframe.
