About this opportunity

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC.PCD), a component of the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command, is seeking information on commercially available handheld gas analyzers for shipboard breathing air quality testing and monitoring. The primary requirements include self-contained, lightweight devices (not exceeding 5 lbs) that can be deployed within 3 minutes or less and are capable of detecting water vapor, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and condensed oil. Highly desirable capabilities include detection of hydrogen sulfide and volatile organic compounds such as JP-5/diesel vapors, xylene, and dimethylbenzene, as well as an extended calibration period of at least 12 months. Interested vendors must submit capability statements to Jacob.j.gabreleski.civ@us.navy.mil no later than March 13, 2026 (30 days from the posting date of February 11, 2026), including company name, mailing address, CAGE code, phone number, point of contact, and detailed technical descriptions. Questions regarding this Request for Information may be directed to Daniel.Theriault@navy.mil and Jacob.j.gabreleski.civ@us.navy.mil.

The Request for Information is issued solely for planning and information-gathering purposes and does not constitute a commitment to contract, issue a future solicitation, or provide reimbursement for respondents' costs. The procurement falls under NAICS code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) and PSC code 6630 (Chemical Analysis Instruments), with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. All submissions will become Government property and will not be returned to vendors. This notice represents an early opportunity for qualified manufacturers to present their existing capabilities and potentially position themselves for future formal procurement activities.
