About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC.PCD) for handheld gas analyzers to be used in shipboard breathing air quality testing and monitoring. The Government seeks information on existing commercially available gas detectors and sensors that are self-contained, lightweight (exceeding 5 lbs), and deployable within 3 minutes or less. Required detection capabilities include water vapor, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and condensed oil. Highly desirable additional capabilities include detection of hydrogen sulfide and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), specifically JP-5/diesel vapors, xylene, and dimethylbenzene. An extended calibration period of at least 12 months is also highly desirable.

Interested parties must submit capability statements to Jacob.j.gabreleski.civ@us.navy.mil no later than 30 days after posting. Submissions must include company name, mailing address, CAGE code, phone number, designated point of contact, and adequate technical descriptions of capabilities. Proprietary information must be clearly marked. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Questions should be directed to Daniel.Theriault@navy.mil and Jacob.j.gabreleski.civ@us.navy.mil. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a commitment to contract, issue a future RFQ, or reimburse respondents for costs. The FSC code is 6630, NAICS code is 334516, and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

FOR

HANDHELD GAS ANALYZERS

1. Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC.PCD) requests information on existing items which provide handheld gas analysis (gas analyzers). These analyzers are often used by marine chemists to detect the presence of life support metabolic gases as well as metabolic poisons. Shipboard Air quality Testing for breathing air should include water vapor, Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide, Oxygen, and Condensed oil. Highly desirable additional detection capabilities for Hydrogen Sulfide and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) (JP- 5/diesel vapors, Xylene, and dimethylbenzene). Interest exists for commercially available gas detectors and/or sensors which are self-contained, lightweight (>5 lbs) and can be deployed in 3 minutes or less. Highly desirable is also an extended no calibration period of at least 12 months.

2. Responses

Interested parties are asked to submit capability statements to Jacob.j.gabreleski.civ@us.navy.mil no later than 30 days after posting of this RFI. Proprietary information MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED.
