About this opportunity
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest is seeking sources for falconry services at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) and NAVWAR Naval Base Point Loma Old Town Campus in San Diego, California. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, tools, materials, equipment, supervision, management, transportation, and other services necessary to perform bird hazing and harassing activities against nuisance birds in accordance with California Department of Fish and Wildlife regulations. This procurement falls under NAICS Code 561710 (Exterminating and Pest Control Services) with a small business size standard of $17.5 million in annual receipts. Interested vendors must complete a Market Research Questionnaire that addresses their approach to minimizing nuisance birds, recommended service frequency, and pricing structure for 12 months of falconry services. Responses must be submitted via email to the contracting officers by October 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM PDT, and the government will use these responses to determine the appropriate acquisition method.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and no incumbent contractors are identified in the notice. While specific award values are not disclosed, the questionnaire requests pricing structure information for 12 months of falconry services, indicating the government is seeking cost information to inform their acquisition strategy. The contract structure includes a base period of one year with four additional one-year option periods, potentially extending the total contract duration to five years. The estimated contract start date is February 1, 2026, providing successful vendors with approximately three months to prepare for service delivery after the sources sought period closes. The government has explicitly stated that this is not a solicitation for quotations or proposals, but rather a market research exercise to gather information from potential contractors.
