About this opportunity
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii is conducting market research to identify alternative sources for a multispectrum infrared flame detector currently sourced from Det-Tronics. The Government seeks products that can serve as functional equivalents to the X3301 Multispectrum Infrared Flame Detector at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. Qualifying products must comply with UFC 4-021-01 Aircraft Maintenance Hangars, NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, and achieve UL or FM approval for optical flame detection per ANSI/FM 3260 standards. Additionally, the detector must be rated for Class I Division 1 and Division 2 hazardous locations, feature a minimum of three infrared sensors with signal processing capabilities, maintain NEMA 4X enclosure rating, and provide immunity to radio frequency and electromagnetic interference from military aircraft radar. Interested vendors must submit complete technical data and specifications by December 23, 2025, with responses limited to a maximum of two pages in 11-point Times New Roman font or larger. This is a market research notification only and does not constitute a commitment to issue a formal solicitation or award a contract.
No set-aside designation has been applied to this procurement opportunity. Det-Tronics, located at 6901 West 110th Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is the current supplier of the X3301 flame detector model under consideration. The pre-solicitation notice does not specify an anticipated award value or budget range, nor does it indicate the quantity of units required or the timeline for service delivery. This market research phase is intended to evaluate whether commercially available alternatives can meet the Government's technical and operational requirements before determining whether to pursue a competitive procurement or sole-source award. The procurement falls under NAICS 334290 (Other Communications Equipment Manufacturing) and PSC 6350 (Miscellaneous Alarm, Signal, and Security Detection Systems).
