About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force is conducting market research through a Sources Sought notice for Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Environmental Construction and Optimization Services in the Northern California region. The Air Force Installation Contracting Agency seeks to identify potential contractors capable of performing environmental remediation services under NAICS code 562910. This market research specifically aims to determine the availability of responsible sources and assess whether the procurement can be structured as a competitive total small business set-aside or other small business designations including 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned small businesses. Interested contractors must submit responses by October 10, 2025, at 1500 hours CST via email to designated Air Force contracting personnel. Responses are limited to five pages and must include comprehensive company information such as CAGE code, revenue, employee count, UEI, SAM registration status, relevant experience, potential risks, and capabilities.
This Sources Sought is designated as a total small business set-aside opportunity under the remediation services category. The government document reveals that this market research relates to a potential modification of existing IDIQ contract FA8903-20-D-0002, which currently has a ceiling of $90.3 million that the Air Force plans to increase to $140 million. The NAICS size standard for this procurement is 1,000 employees, indicating the scale of contractors the government expects to engage. The Air Force emphasizes that participation in this market research does not guarantee future solicitation opportunities or contract awards, and no reimbursement will be provided for response preparation costs. The government is particularly interested in identifying vendors with the capacity and capability to handle the magnitude of environmental construction and optimization projects anticipated for future BRAC requirements in Northern California.
