About this opportunity
The Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons Field Acquisition Office is conducting a sources sought announcement for solid waste disposal (landfill) services at Federal Correctional Complex Pollock in Pollock, Louisiana, with a market research questionnaire response deadline of September 25, 2026. The incumbent contractor, Ecology MIR Group, LLC, was awarded the original contract in June 2021 for $777,480.00 covering one base year and four one-year options, ending September 30, 2026. No formal solicitation is available at this time; responses to the market research questionnaire will inform the Government's future procurement strategy.
The requirement is classified under NAICS 562212 (Solid Waste Landfill) with a small business size standard of $47 million in gross revenues. The Government contemplates a single indefinite delivery/requirements award with firm fixed prices consisting of one base year and four optional twelve-month extension years at its unilateral discretion. The contractor must manage disposal of approximately 1,680 tons per year of nonhazardous solid waste and construction debris, delivered twice daily Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. local time, totaling approximately ten loads per week.
The disposal facility must be State of Louisiana Department of Health and Environment–approved, EPA-compliant, located within a 50-mile one-way radius of FCC Pollock, and properly certified and licensed for Louisiana waste disposal. The contractor assumes all disposal responsibility once waste is unloaded; the Government provides dumpsters and compactors. Responses should be directed to contracting officer Sarah Burke at sburke@bop.gov.
