About this opportunity
The National Park Service (NPS), acting under the Department of the Interior, is issuing a concessions prospectus for a contract to operate canoe and tube rental services with shuttle operations, camp store and retail merchandise sales, and firewood sales within the Akers Ferry District at Ozark National Scenic Riverways. The NPS has determined that a Preferred Offeror exists for this contract pursuant to 36 C.F.R. Part 51. Prospective vendors must submit proposals by June 26, 2026, and may submit questions regarding the prospectus no later than 4:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time on May 8, 2026. The NPS will conduct a non-mandatory site visit on April 15, 2026, with registration required by April 10, 2026. All interested parties should contact Eric Nikkel, Concessions Management Specialist, at eric_nikkel@nps.gov to register for the site visit, request prospectus amendments, submit questions, or be added to the contact list for additional information.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation and applies to All Other Amusement and Recreation Industries (NAICS 713990) under the Operation of Recreational Buildings category (PSC M1FB). The prospectus document, which contains specific contract terms, conditions, and evaluation criteria, is available at https://nps.gov/subjects/concessions/prospectuses.htm. While the pre-solicitation notice does not specify the contract award value, budget range, or explicit numerical performance metrics, interested offerors should review the full prospectus for detailed financial requirements and operational expectations. The presence of a Preferred Offeror designation indicates that an incumbent operator may have certain advantages in the evaluation process, though all qualified parties are welcome to submit competing proposals.
