About this opportunity
The Air Force Life Cycle Materiel Command (AFLCMC), specifically the Electronic Systems Directorate located at Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts, has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to solicit an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with EWR Radar Systems, Inc. The notice is a sole source procurement under statutory authority 10 USC 3204(a)(1), which allows for selection of a single responsible source when no other suppliers can meet agency requirements. The contract will focus on Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) and Special Projects for the United States Air Force's Portable Doppler Radar (PDR) systems. This synopsis is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.201 and serves as a preliminary notification of the intended contract action. The notice explicitly states that it does not constitute a Request for Proposal and is not a binding commitment by the government.
Interested contractors can submit a Statement of Capabilities via email to the designated Hanscom AFB personnel, specifically Contracting Officer Brett Maguire and Contract Specialist Kathryn Mackessy. The proposed IDIQ contract will have a maximum ordering period of four and a half years, targeting logistics support and special projects for PDR systems. Potential offerors are encouraged to communicate any concerns through established channels, with an Ombudsman, Lt Col Paul W. Tinker, available to address serious issues that cannot be resolved directly with the Contracting Officer. The government will not reimburse any costs incurred in responding to this notice, and the acquisition approach remains flexible. While this is a sole source procurement with EWR Radar Systems, Inc., the notice allows for interested parties to demonstrate their capabilities and potentially raise concerns about the proposed procurement method.
