About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 22 (VA VHA VISN 22) has issued a Special Notice for a sole source justification to extend teleradiology services for the New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS). The notice seeks to continue a contract with VetMed Group, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), for off-site teleradiology interpretation services from June 1, 2025, through November 30, 2025. The extension is necessary to prevent a service interruption while a long-term contract is being procured, with the anticipated new contract award date set for December 1, 2025. The teleradiology services will cover board-certified radiologists providing interpretations for various radiologic procedures, including General Radiologic Procedures, CT/CTA Scans, MRI/MRA, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound exams. The total estimated contract value for this six-month extension is $545,109.25.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to ensure continuous, high-quality teleradiology services for VA healthcare beneficiaries by extending the current contract with VetMed Group. The contract requires the contractor to provide off-site teleradiology services with coverage Monday through Friday from 4 PM to 7 AM, weekends, and federal holidays, with an expected workload of 9,154 radiologic exams. Eligibility is limited to VetMed Group due to their unique qualifications, including extensive VA experience, robust technology infrastructure, and pre-credentialed radiologists. The services must adhere to standards set by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and The Joint Commission (TJC), ensuring high-quality medical imaging interpretation. The opportunity is not set aside for any specific contractor type, though the current provider is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. Contractors must be prepared to provide comprehensive radiologic interpretation services that meet or exceed VA and ACR guidelines, with a focus on maintaining continuity of critical healthcare services for veterans.
