About this opportunity
NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center is seeking servicing and exchange services for Rolls Royce MK511-8 SPEY Engines used on two Gulfstream GIII aircraft (NASA 520 and NASA 808). The agency intends to acquire these commercial services using FAR Part 12 procurement guidelines, with Standard Aero Corporation identified as the sole provider capable of performing the required 5Y2K work scope. Interested organizations must submit their capabilities and qualifications electronically to Sarah DeRoche and Cheryl Shastid by 12:00pm on June 6, 2025, with the email subject line "80AFRC25PA004 Capability/Qualification Statement". The government will evaluate these submissions to determine whether to proceed with a competitive or sole-source acquisition, with the final determination being solely at the government's discretion. NASA has included the Clause 1852.215-84 Ombudsman provision to ensure procurement transparency.
The contract involves servicing two specific engine serial numbers (11176 and 8801) through a certified FAA 14 CFR Part 145 repair station, with work to be completed no later than September 30, 2026. Standard Aero Corporation has declared January 2026 as the last date of engine induction, and the contract will require removing existing engines, installing serviced engines, and conducting comprehensive functional checks and testing. No specific set-aside has been designated for this procurement, and the contract falls under NAICS Category 336412 for Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing with a Product Service Code of J016 for maintenance and repair of aircraft components. While no specific award value is mentioned, the scope involves complex engine servicing for NASA's research aircraft, suggesting a potentially significant contract value for specialized aerospace maintenance services.
