About this opportunity

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to negotiate a sole source procurement with Gladiator Forensics, LLC for a software platform. The notice was published on January 30, 2025, and is classified under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 334290. The procurement will be conducted through FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, with the government planning to award a firm fixed-price purchase order. While the DEA is primarily targeting a direct award to Gladiator Forensics, the notice allows for other vendors to submit capability statements for potential consideration. The procurement is specifically for a software platform, though detailed technical specifications are not provided in the notice.

Contractors interested in this opportunity have until February 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time to submit electronic capability statements directly to Monica.J.Gehrer@dea.gov. The government has explicitly stated that this notice is not a request for competitive quotation, and no Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued. Vendors submitting capability statements should understand that the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to open the requirement to competition based on the received submissions. The sole source nature of the procurement suggests that Gladiator Forensics may have unique qualifications or capabilities that make them the preferred vendor. Potential respondents should carefully review the attached justification document and prepare their capability statements to demonstrate their potential to meet the government's requirements, understanding that the DEA is not obligated to consider alternative vendors.
