About this opportunity
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Eastern Acquisitions office is soliciting proposals for comprehensive snow removal services at two critical air traffic control facilities: the New York Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) in Ronkonkoma, NY and the New York TRACON facility in Westbury, NY. This Screening Information Request (SIR) Number 697DCK-25-R-00418 requires contractors to provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for snow and ice removal from roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, walkways, emergency exits, ramps, and other employee-utilized areas on an on-call basis, operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Contractors must respond within two hours of notification (one hour for main entrance areas at TRACON) and provide specific minimum equipment including four-wheel drive plow trucks, large plow trucks with hydraulic blades, salting equipment, and potentially heavy equipment such as front-end loaders during severe weather conditions. Site visits are strongly encouraged and scheduled for August 14 and August 19, 2025, with all questions due by August 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM EST. Proposals must be submitted electronically to Jennifer.Walker-Gomez@faa.gov by the deadline specified in the solicitation document.
This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business Set-Aside utilizing firm-fixed price contracting for a base year plus four one-year option periods, spanning from November 1, 2025 through April 30, 2030. Amendment 0001 references existing contracts with HAASE Landscaping & Design Corp (base year $48,598.00) and Confer RBR LLC (base plus 4 options $148,000.00), suggesting these may be incumbent contractors or recent comparable awards. The contract structure indicates seasonal operations running from November through April each year, aligning with typical snow season requirements in the New York region. Services will be performed at two high-security FAA facilities requiring special access procedures, employee background checks, and Real ID compliance for facility entry. The procurement requires contractors to supply specific materials including salt that meets Long Island regional road standards and sand treated with Magnesium Chloride, with sodium chloride prohibited at the TRACON facility. Both locations are critical air traffic control facilities where operational continuity is essential, making reliable snow removal services vital for aviation safety and facility accessibility.
