About this opportunity
Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research regarding qualification and production of C5 aircraft slats, with responses due by November 13, 2026. The RFI seeks sources capable of manufacturing two NSNs: NSN 1560007742115UC (SLAT, AIRCRAFT LH7, P/N 4J10048-120G) and NSN 1560007742114UC (SLAT, AIRCRAFT RH7, P/N 4J10048-119G). No set-aside applies.
The total requirement spans 42 units across five ordering periods: OP1 through OP5. Left-hand slat quantities are 1 first article, then 8, 8, 8, 8 units. Right-hand slat quantities are 1 first article, then 3, 0, 1, 1, 0 units. No procurement is anticipated beyond OP5.
Slats are critical structural and aerodynamic components that enhance lift generation and control during low-speed flight operations, particularly during takeoff and landing on austere runways.
Interested contractors must be registered in the Enhanced Joint Certification Program (EJCP) to access export-controlled technical data and bidset documents through SAM.Gov. Respondents must possess or obtain a Secret-level security clearance and demonstrate capability in generating, handling, processing, and storing classified material. Contractors are responsible for providing all materials, support equipment, tools, and test equipment, and must maintain current quality assurance certifications such as ISO 9001 or AS9100. Both large and small businesses, joint ventures, and teaming arrangements are encouraged. The government retains full rights to technical data with no manufacturing restrictions anticipated. Submit responses to roberto.martinez-perez@us.af.mil and Danielle.rutland@us.af.mil. Participation does not guarantee inclusion in future solicitations, and the government will not reimburse response expenses.
