About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is conducting market research for a Six-Containers (SIXCON) Pump Module replacement system critical to fuel support across Fleet Marine Forces. The current legacy system consists of five fuel tank modules and one pump module configured in an ISO/ANSI 19.8 x 8 x 8-foot system, with each tank module providing 900 gallons of storage capacity for aircraft and ground vehicle refueling. The new system must meet 31 specific requirements, including a minimum 50 GPM fuel transfer rate, compatibility with military aviation turbine fuels, and filtration meeting MIL-STD 3004 standards. Vendors are required to provide comprehensive information including production samples, commercial availability, monthly production rates, estimated costs, and small business status. The Request for Information (RFI) response deadline is set for January 31, 2025, with the overall contract opportunity closing on April 17, 2025.
The procurement is not designated with any specific set-aside and falls under the NAICS category 424720 for Petroleum and Petroleum Products Merchant Wholesalers. The Marine Corps plans to procure 627 systems through a 5-year Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The system must operate between -25 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit, have a maximum frame weight of 178 lbs, and be capable of mounting on all four sides of tank modules. While no specific incumbent contractors are mentioned, the solicitation indicates a comprehensive replacement of the existing SIXCON fuel support system. The RFI explicitly states this is for market research purposes only, and no formal solicitation currently exists, serving as a preliminary information-gathering phase to understand potential vendor capabilities and market readiness for the proposed system.
Notice text
Program Manager, Engineer Systems (ES), Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is conducting market research for the potential sources of a Six-Containers (SIXCON) Pump Module replacement as an improvement for the current system.
The legacy SIXCON system is currently used heavily for fuel support across the Fleet Marine Forces. This system consists of a SIXCON Fuel Tank Module and SIXCON Fuel Pump Module. A complete Fuel SIXCON System consists of five tank modules and one pump module that can be configured into an ISO/ANSI 19.8 X 8 X 8-foot system. The pump module provides refueling and defueling capabilities for aircraft and ground vehicles, while each fuel tank module provides 900 gallons of storage capacity. Furthermore, it provides a recirculation capability that filters contaminants and removes water from the fuel stored in the Fuel Tank Modules, enabling the fuel to meet military specification standards.
