About this opportunity

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering District Seattle, has issued a Special Notice for a crane rental service at Mud Mountain Dam located in Enumclaw, Washington. The procurement is a 100% small business set-aside opportunity involving two crane picks on the upstream face of the dam to install and remove metal stop logs. The contract requires a crane operator with an appropriately sized crane capable of navigating a steep grade and challenging access conditions. The site visit is mandatory and scheduled for May 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, with contractors expected to arrive by 9:30 a.m. at 30525 SE Mud Mountain Rd.

Contractors must verify all equipment weights and radiuses prior to mobilization and conduct a full walkthrough of lift operations to ensure appropriate equipment is selected. The site has specific access limitations, including restrictions on large trucks due to the steep grade and switchbacks, which means counterweights may need to be transported using smaller vehicles. Proper identification is required to enter the site, and contractors are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit to understand the unique operational challenges. Eligible small businesses interested in the opportunity must contact Keith Rudie or Rick Emry for administrative inquiries, with communication hours restricted to Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time. The contract falls under NAICS category 238990 (All Other Specialty Trade Contractors) and PSC category W038 (Lease or Rental of Construction Equipment).
