The contract is intended to be awarded to Sirona Dental, Inc., located in Long Island City, NY, for providing extended equipment warranty, software updates, training, and portal support for CEREC equipment used by the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force. The procurement will be a firm-fixed price contract with a five-year performance period, falling under the NAICS code 541512 with a size standard of $34 million. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is 41 USC 254(c)(1), which allows for procurement from a single responsible source when no other supplies or services can satisfy agency requirements. Interested parties may submit a capability statement including costs, which must be received by 12:00 pm Central Standard Time on January 2, 2025, via email to Kirk Heyen (kirk.e.heyen.civ@health.mil) and Julie Ellington (julie.a.ellington.civ@health.mil). The primary objective of this contract is to ensure continued support and maintenance of specialized dental equipment across military healthcare facilities. No other commercially available extended warranty, software, or support can meet the government's specific requirements, as the services are uniquely tied to the original equipment manufacturer. Potential contractors should carefully review the notice's details and understand that this is a sole source procurement with limited opportunity for competitive bidding.
