About this opportunity

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency published a Special Notice to procure various brand name IT equipment from Sterling Computers Corporation to build sixteen secure mobile communication systems known as SIPR Grip Kits. This non-competitive procurement is valued at an estimated $725,000 and includes components from Dell, Viasat, PacStar, Cisco, and Gigamon that have been validated as interoperable with existing DTRA systems.

The purpose of the Special Notice is to conduct a sole source re-purchase of equipment from Sterling Computers Corporation in order to effectively fulfill requirements for the SIPR Grip Kit program while preventing delays and redundant costs associated with introducing alternative or upgraded components. The due date for the procurement is September 3, 2021 and it is set aside for total small businesses. Only Sterling Computers Corporation is eligible to participate as the Special Notice procurement seeks to acquire the exact equipment validated under their previous contract to ensure compatibility with DTRA's secured mobile communications and cyber capabilities systems without requiring special adaptation or modification.
