About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground is seeking a prototype sink unit scrub for PEO Soldier's Soldier Medical Device program. The specialized sink is designed for field environments and must support hand and medical equipment cleaning with specific technical requirements, including a self-contained system with pressurized hot and cold water supply. Interested contractors must submit preproposals electronically by March 21, 2025, at 1600 Eastern Time, with submissions limited to three pages. The evaluation will focus on prototype capabilities, with particular attention to meeting critical specifications such as supporting over 100 pounds of water weight, incorporating a tankless electric water heater, maintaining a total weight under 550 pounds, and providing a sink bowl capacity exceeding 5,880 cubic inches. Eligible participants must either include significant participation from non-traditional defense contractors/small businesses or provide a one-third cost share, with the potential for a follow-on production contract.
The opportunity is not set aside for any specific business category and will be awarded under an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) using NAICS code 332999. The government anticipates procuring approximately 68-70 units upon successful prototype completion, with the potential for a non-competitive follow-on production contract. The sink unit must be FDA-cleared or registered, provide hands-free water control, support dual voltage configurations, and include specific accessories like a mixing faucet, handles, and surgical soap dispenser. Contractors are required to offer a minimum one-year warranty, provide repair parts support, and ensure Trade Agreements Act compliance. The project aims to develop a critical medical device for field surgical environments, with desired additional features including unit collapsibility, hardened transport cases, and manufacturer training capabilities.
