About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) is seeking to procure a Shuttle Assembly, National Stock Number (NSN) 7R-1720-011581698-VX, with a Technical Data Package (TDP) Version 032. The procurement is for 74 units to be delivered FOB Origin, with a critical focus on maintaining high-quality engineering standards for a flight-critical component. This contract opportunity requires extensive source approval from the design control activity, meaning only pre-approved manufacturers can bid on the project. Potential bidders must submit comprehensive technical data demonstrating their engineering capabilities, manufacturing expertise, and previous production experience with similar items. Interested parties must provide all required documentation outlined in the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures, and submissions failing to meet these requirements will be automatically disqualified from consideration.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation, though the procurement is complex and limited in scope. The opportunity is currently open until April 3, 2025, with potential award contingent upon successful source approval and meeting stringent government engineering requirements. While specific award values are not disclosed, the procurement involves a specialized shuttle assembly critical to military systems. The government has identified that only previously approved sources will be considered, suggesting a narrow competitive field. Potential bidders must navigate a rigorous qualification process that includes submitting detailed technical information and demonstrating unique design capabilities. The procurement process allows for potential award continuation based on fleet support needs, even if source approval evaluations cannot be completed within the standard timeframe.
