About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy's Naval Supply Systems Command, Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville, intends to issue a sole-source award under Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Southern Electro Mechanical Services, INC. for shredder maintenance at the Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD), with written responses due by 4:00 p.m. on November 11, 2026. No set-aside is used. The Navy states the firm is the only regional authorized service and material provider for this machinery, and OEM material is required to maintain work and equipment warranties. Sources able to provide the requirement must respond in writing with clear and convincing evidence; a request for documentation is not an affirmative response. If no responses state that comparable items are available and more advantageous to the Government than a sole-source contract, the award will be made without further notice. The notice is for information purposes only, and the Contracting Officer retains sole discretion over competition. Responses go to kenneth.b.brown24.civ@us.navy.mil. The procurement falls under NAICS 811310 with a $12.5 million size standard and PSC J074. The attached Performance Work Statement describes a 12-month base period from December 1, 2026 through November 30, 2027, with four one-year options through November 30, 2031, covering maintenance of 25 shredding and destruction units at NAVSCOLEOD and Site C-87 at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
