About this opportunity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to the County of San Diego for shared space and support services for the US/Mexico Unit and San Diego Quarantine Station. The contract will be located within the San Diego County Public Health Services facility, with the primary objective of enabling continuous in-person collaboration between CDC staff and county public health personnel. Support services will include installation and maintenance of phone lines, computer infrastructure, technical support, building services, security, and janitorial services. The government is using FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) and 41 USC 3304(a)(1) to negotiate with a single source, asserting that San Diego County is the only known provider of a federally-owned space that meets their collaborative requirements. Interested parties may submit responses to the contract specialist at xur0@cdc.gov by 5:00 PM (ET) on April 4, 2025, though the government retains sole discretion on whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

The contract is not set aside for any specific business category and will cover services from September 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026, with options to extend for two additional one-year periods potentially ending on August 31, 2028. The procurement falls under NAICS category 921190 (Other General Government Support) and PSC category R499 (Support-Professional: Other). While specific award values are not disclosed, the contract will be for shared facility use and comprehensive support services for CDC staff assigned to the San Diego location. The sole source designation indicates that San Diego County is considered the exclusive provider capable of meeting the CDC's specific collaborative and operational requirements. No incumbent contractor is mentioned, and the contract appears to be a new arrangement designed to facilitate direct, in-person interaction between CDC personnel and local public health officials.
