Synopsis for Shaft Repair and Balancing Services


The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) has a requirement for up to fifteen (15) Shaft thermal spray repairs and dynamic balancing for up to fifteen (15) Shaft Assemblies.  This effort is detailed in the accordance of the Statement of Work (SOW).   NUWCDIVNPT requires the services for base period of one (1) year, with four (4) additional option periods of one (1) year each.


This procurement will be processed using FAR Part 13.  The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 332710.  The Small Business Size Standard is 500 employees.   This procurement is being solicited on an unrestricted basis as concurred with by the NUWCDIVNPT Office for Small Business Programs.


The resulting contract will be a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) purchase order.


 Required delivery shall correspond with the anticipated base Period of Performance (POP) of 02 February-2018 through 31-January- 2019.  If exercised, the anticipated POPs for Option 1 is 02 February-2019 through 31-January-2020, Option 2 is 02 February-2020 through 31-January- 2021, Option 3 is 02 February-2021 through 31-January- 2022, and Option 4 is February-2022 through 31-January- 2023. 


Solicitation N66604-18-R-0341 is anticipated to be released on or around 15 Jan 2018 or sooner.  The closing date for receipt of proposals will be established in the solicitation.  Technical proposals are required.  The Government intends to award to the eligible, responsible offeror whose offer represents the best value, considering cost/price, past performance, and technical factors.  The specific evaluation criteria will be outlined in the solicitation.  All timely offers will be considered.  The solicitation and any subsequent amendments will be posted to the FEDBIZOPPS.gov website.  Prospective offerors are responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation from this website and for monitoring the site for any amendments.


Offerors must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) (https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/) to be eligible for award.  Instructions for registration are available at the website.
