About this opportunity
The National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health intends to procure a six-month service maintenance agreement for a Cytek Aurora 5 Laser spectral flow cytometer with loader, specifically for serial number U1423/FG196. This specialized equipment is used for high-parameter cell analysis and sorting in visual research to support NEI's mission of understanding the eye and visual system and developing new treatments for vision loss. The contractor must provide factory-trained field service engineers for on-site service, one preventive maintenance inspection during the performance period, all non-consumable parts and labor for repairs, and comprehensive technical support including 24-hour response time for technical issues and 48-hour response for non-functional instruments. Additional requirements include unlimited telephone support, on-site and remote assistance from a dedicated Technical Applications Specialist, and the use of original equipment manufacturer specification parts and services. This is a notice of intent posted on September 20, 2025, with a due date of September 26, 2025, indicating the government's plan to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and the government intends to negotiate directly with Cytek Biosciences, Inc., indicating they are likely the incumbent contractor for this specialized equipment maintenance. The contract involves maintaining one piece of equipment (quantity of 1) over a six-month period of performance. The opportunity falls under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance and PSC code J066 for Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment for Instruments and Laboratory Equipment. No specific award values or budget ranges are disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The government's approach suggests this is a sole-source renewal of an existing service agreement due to the specialized nature of the equipment and the need for manufacturer-specific expertise and parts.
