About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure 10 units of an "Automatic Data Server" (NSN 0R-7025-017091417-P8) under a sole-source procurement authority. The agency has indicated that this is a flight-critical item with an unstable design that has demonstrated marginal performance and low process yield during testing and service use, with major configuration changes contemplated that will render the current part obsolete. Only previously government-approved sources are being solicited due to the technical complexity and flight-critical nature of the component, and any non-approved sources must submit comprehensive technical data and source approval documentation as outlined in NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support brochures. The procurement is structured as a pre-solicitation notice under FAR 6.302-1 sole-source authority, though the government will consider proposals from all responsible sources submitted within 45 days of publication. The response deadline is September 2, 2025, with delivery terms specified as FOB Origin.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to full and open competition despite the sole-source notice, provided vendors can meet the stringent government source approval requirements. The contract calls for exactly 10 units of the server component, though no specific contract value or budget range has been disclosed in the notice. The procurement timeline indicates a relatively compressed schedule, with the notice posted on July 17, 2025, and responses due by September 2, 2025, providing approximately 47 days for interested vendors to respond. No current contractor or incumbent is specifically named in the solicitation, though the notice indicates that only previously approved sources have been directly solicited. The agency has noted that technical drawings and data are not available for this requirement, which may present additional challenges for potential new sources seeking approval.
