About this opportunity

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research on NSN 6340-01-434-8887, a sensing element fire detection component, with capability responses due by June 8, 2026. This is a sources-sought action, not a current solicitation; the government is identifying qualified vendors for potential future procurement, not an immediate buy.

Currently manufactured by Kidde Technologies (CAGE 73168, part 35802-200-310), Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems (CAGE 74703, part 058095-3), and Simmons Precision Products (CAGE 89305, part 058095-3), the item carries no specific technical orders or qualification requirements in this notice. Potential sources must be capable of full-cycle new manufacture, including component procurement, inspection, testing, preservation, packaging, and shipping. Responsibilities may extend to supply chain management, logistics planning, forecasting, long-lead-time parts procurement, diminishing manufacturing sources mitigation, and asset distribution.

The estimated annual quantity is 40 units. NAICS 334290 (Other Communications Equipment Manufacturing) and PSC 6340 (Aircraft Alarm and Signal Systems) apply. No set-aside is anticipated. Submission is voluntary; the government incurs no financial obligation for information provided. Parties responding should recognize this as a qualification avenue for the next procurement cycle, not the current demand signal.
