About this opportunity

The Department of State, through its Office of Art in Embassies, issued a Limited / Sole Source Justification Notice for acquiring six specific artworks from L'Atelier 21 Art Gallery for the new U.S. Consulate in Casablanca, Morocco. The procurement includes four paintings by Najia Mehadji (200cm x 200cm at $15,975 each), one painting by Safaa Erruas (120 x 230 cm at $21,600), and one sculpture by Ikram Kabbaj (112 x 70x25cm at $24,300), with an additional $1,000 for shipping, totaling $110,800. The justification for sole sourcing stems from the Curatorial Committee's specific selection of these artworks to support the Department of State's cultural exchange mission, emphasizing unique artistic criteria, cultural relevance, and representational value. The artworks were chosen after comprehensive market research involving art journals, exhibitions, and expert consultations to ensure they meet the government's objectives for diplomatic art representation. The contract (19M03025P0111) was awarded to L'Atelier 21 Art Gallery on March 5, 2025, with the opportunity formally posted on March 14, 2025.
